| June 2010 2nd - Next Meeting at the VFW Post Hall Time - 7:00 PM 6th - Post Fix-Up Day Time - 10:00 AM Everyone is welcome, this is a good chance to make repair/improvements to the Post as well as shoot the breeze with Commrades. 10th - Medical Screening at the Post Hall [Not a VFW Event] Brought to you by the Life Line Screening. Time - Pre-Registration is REQUIRED Cost - $129.00 for 4 tests [This is a $41.00 savings.] 1) Stroke Screening / Carotid Artery Looks for plaque buildup of calcium and cholesterol on the arterial walls. This buildup can restrict blood flow to the brain or break off and become lodged in a blood vessel ~ This causes a stroke. 2) Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm [AAA] Screening Looks for a ballooning of the wall in the abdominal aorta, caused by plaque buildup. If this ruptures, the mortality rate is 80%, with many not surviving long enough to reach the hospital.. 3) Peripheral Arterial Disease [PAD] Screening Looks for a plaque buildup in the arms and legs. Have a SAFE and Happy Summer. 26th - Harbor Club Antique Boat Show Time - 12:00 PM Honor Guard duties will be performed by the VFW Post 3901 Honor Guard. July 2010 4th - Independence Day Parade through Downtown Algonac. Muster at the Post no later than 10:00 AM, we will make the trailer arrangements and all drive down together. 4th - V.A.L.O.R.'s Cooler of Cheer Drawing Time: 6:00 PM at the Post Hall.
